FGM is still a thorny issue in many societies as more women still suffer the scourge of the practice. The practice is now growing shoots in the European countries due to the large number of immigrants flowing into their territories. To preserve their identities most of them still want to maintain their cultural practices one of them is Female Genital Mutilation/ Cutting. According to UNICEF Europe accounts for 5% of the millions of women and girls affected. Because of this the European union has seen the need to address  the issue and find solutions to end the practice.

In bid to campaign for the end of this advocates are meeting at the University Paris-1 Pantheon Sorbonne & School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences on 27th and 28th January 2015  to assess the current state of research on FGM/C within the field of medicine, health and sexuality. Prof. Jaldesa Guyo Director ACCAF, is one of the expertise recognized to address the delegates on medical issues in association to FGM/C.
